Kobe and Surroundings

Kobe is the sixth-largest city in Japan and is the capital city of Hyogo Prefecture on the southern side of the main island of Honshu, approximately 30 km (19 mi) west of Osaka on the north shore of Osaka Bay. With a population of about 1.5 million, the city is part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area along with Osaka and Kyoto.

    Osaka Science Museum is located at the former Faculty of Science, Osaka Univ. where Hideki Yukawa wrote his famous paper on meson theory in 1935. His original drafts as well as the the Cockroft-Walton accelerator. build by Seishi Kikuchi in Osaka in 1934 can be seen in the 4th floor of the Museum. Entrance to the exhibition and the planetarium will be discounted by 20% by showing your QM2015 conference ID.
